Apache Junction Future Dog Park

The City of Apache Junction has considered and planned for the development of an off-leash dog park in our community for over 10 years; however, funding was historically a challenge. In recent years, efforts were re-vitalized when the City partnered with Arizona State University Project Cities to evaluate interest, funding, and logistics. The Parks and Recreation Commission and the Apache Junction City Council identified a cost-effective, central location in the downtown area, at the Pinal County Complex located on the SE corner of Superstition Blvd. and Idaho Rd. The new dog park, which begins construction in August, will have separate fenced areas for varying sizes of dogs, grass, water stations, solar lighting, shade and seating. We are currently seeking grants, donations and corporate partners that may be interested in contributing to the funding of this project. If you have questions or are interested in getting involved with one of our citizen groups, please contact ajpr@apachejunctionaz.gov.
