Every child should have identification information. It's like insurance. It's there if you need it, but you hope you'll never have to use it. When faced with the possibility of a family abduction, a non-family abduction, or a runaway situation, there is nothing more valuable.
The Apache Junction Police Department wants this information to be available to all parents and guardians. The AJPD has a Child ID system, which utilizes a computer, a camera and a fingerprint-scanning device. This system produces a printout of the child's information, photograph, 10-digit fingerprints, and two laminated ID cards.
