After a delay, the Maricopa County Department of Transportation is set to begin installation of traffic signals at Baseline and Meridian Road next week.
The project will also improve pavement on Meridian north of Baseline. The project is expected to wrap-up in early 2022.
Meridian Road will be closed to through traffic from US 60 to Baseline. Business access will remain open. Please plan your travel accordingly.
The project is a unique partnership between Maricopa and Pinal counties and the city of Apache Junction.
Maricopa County is leading the project, which, as always, is subject to change for weather, equipment failure or other circumstances.
For information on the project, go to Baseline Road at Meridian Road Signalization (maricopa.gov). If you have questions you can email MCDOTprojects@maricopa.gov or call (602) 506-3342.
A reminder to think safety at work zones. Please obey traffic control signs, slow down while driving through the work zone and allow extra time for travel.
