3. How do I notify the City about a possible code violation?

You may file a complaint about a possible code violation in person, in writing, by phone or email. Phone numbers and e-mail addresses are listed on the city’s Code Compliance webpage. In an average year, the City receives several hundred complaints related to possible code violations.
Please be prepared with specific information, such as:

• The address of the property
• Detailed description of the situation
• The length of time you have observed the situation

You do not have to identify yourself, but having your name will assist us with follow-up and ensure we have all the information we need to resolve the situation. Code Compliance

4. When do I need a permit?

The best way to determine if a permit is required is to call the Building Safety Division at (480) 474-5156. A permit is generally required for any new building, addition, alteration, repair or change in use of an existing building or storefront and site improvements.

14. Do I need a permit for a fence?

16. When is the next Planning and Zoning Commission meeting?

Planning and Zoning Commission meetings are usually held twice per month, on the second and fourth Tuesday of the month at 7:00 pm in the city council chambers.  Please note that sometimes meetings are not held and are canceled, so please check the calendar page first to see if an agenda has been posted.  Agendas are posted on the Thursday before the meeting.
