Lieutenant Thomas Parker is an Arizona native. He has served with the Apache Junction Police Department for over 25 years. He has been the Interim Commander and Operations Lieutenant with the Apache Junction Police Department, where he has overseen patrol, traffic, animal control, training, communications, records, and special projects in which he has been instrumental. He is currently assigned to the Patrol Division, where he oversees “A” Shift Patrol squads, Detention Personnel, and Court Service Officers, in addition to our Police Reserve and Police Auxiliary Programs.
Lieutenant Parker has an extensive and diverse background. He has served in numerous areas of the department and in every rank leading up to Lieutenant. Lieutenant Parker is a veteran with prior military service as a Military Police Officer and has worked in education as an Adjunct Professor for two different universities.
Thom possesses a Master of Science Degree in Security Management, graduating with a 3.95 GPA, and a Bachelor's Degree in Law Enforcement Administration, graduating cum laude. Thom is also an advanced graduate of Northwestern University School of Police Staff and Command, as well as a graduate of both Tempe Leadership and the Hispanic Leadership Institute. Thom is a proud member of our local American Legion and VFW Posts and has remained actively involved in numerous professional and community organizations for more than 27 years.
